The ConnectionManager will start automatically in small view, to open the large view of the ConnectionManager you need to click on the large arrows.

You can connect with the ConnectionManager through an "Automatic" connection or a "Manual" connection. When you select "Automatic"; the ConnectionManager will automatically connect with the connection that is on top of the list under the Connections tab, when you press the "Connect" button. The button will change into "Disconnect" once clicked. When "Disconnect" is pressed the connection will terminate. It is possible to change the order of connections, how to do this can be found in the help file that is present in the ConnectionManager or the User Manual.

When you want to connect with the "Manual" option, you need to select the connection you want to use and click "Connect". The ConnectionManager will use the selected connection under either the "Connections" tab or "Networks" tab.

Mobile Partner is the standard Huawei software. Unfortunately it cannot offer you the 'Best Connected' service, but it will allow you to connect to 3G and 2G services.

There may be a number of reasons why you cannot get FREEDOM4 WiFi's ConnectionManager to work on your computer. Therefore we ask you to try Installing the Mobile Partner Software.

The Huawei Mobile Partner software can be downloaded from here.

Once you have the software follow the following steps:

Run the setup file click Next




Read and Accept the Terms and Conditions




Select where you would like the software to be installed




Select where you would like Mobile Partner to appear in the Start Menu




Mobile Partner will then Install. This may take a few minutes




Once installed click finish. You may be asked to restart your computer

Now that you have the Huawei Mobile Partner installed, you now need to set up the software so it knows how to connect to the network.

Go to Tools > Options > Profile Management




Click New and enter the following details:

Profile Name: FREEDOM4 WiFi
APN: Static
APN: 3Internet
Access Number: *99***1#

Leave everything else blank




Click Save, and Yes

Using Mobile Partner is easy. There is simply a Connect and Disconnect button. To Connect follow the steps outlined below:

Ensure FREEDOM4 WiFi is selected from the drop down menu




A new window will pop showing what stag Mobile Partner is up to in the connection process




When connected a yellow balloon will pop up from the system tray advising that you are connected




To disconnect, simply click Disconnect

If for whatever reason you cannot install FREEDOM4 WiFi's ConnectionManager or Huawei's Mobile Partner, you can set up a connection using Windows:

Make sure your USB Modem is plugged in

Go to Start > Connect to > Show all connection
In the new Window click File > New Connection
The following Window will open, click Next




Select Connect to the Internet




Select Set up my connection manually




Select Connect using a dial-up modem




Select Modem - Huawei Mobile Connect – 3G Modem




Type into the ISP Name box FREEDOM4 WiFi Mobile Broadband
In the phone number box type *99***1#




Select who you would like to be able to access the service




Leave all of the boxes blank and untick the first check box




Click Finish

Using Windows to connect to the Mobile Network is easy

Plug in your USB Modem
Go to Start > Connect to > FREEDOM4 WiFi Mobile Broadband, the following Window will open




Make sure the username and password box are empty and click Connect




Once connected a yellow balloon will appear from the system tray
